Delete your Vibely data — without deleting your account
App: Vibely (com.vibely.vibelyspace)
Developer: Aryan Mehta (Vibely Space) — spacevibely@gmail.com
You do not have to close your account to get rid of your data. Most of it you can remove yourself from inside the app, and anything you cannot reach, you can ask us to delete.
If you would rather delete the whole account, see Delete Your Account instead.
Option 1 — Delete it yourself, in the app
| What you want gone | Where | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| An event you are hosting | Open the event → Cancel event | The event, its location, and everyone’s bookings on it are removed. Attendees are told it was cancelled. |
| Your attendance at an event | Open the event → Leave | Your booking and attendance record are removed. |
| A friend connection | Profile → Connections → remove | The friendship is removed for both of you. |
| Someone on your block list | Profile → Connections → unblock | The block record is removed. |
| Optional profile details | Profile → Edit profile | Clear the field and save. |
| Push notifications and the token behind them | Turn notifications off for Vibely in your device settings | The device token that identifies your install is deleted. |
| Location data | Turn location off for Vibely in your device settings | Nothing further is collected. We do not keep a location history in any case. |
Changes take effect immediately.
Option 2 — Ask us to delete specific data
Email spacevibely@gmail.com with “Delete my data” in the subject line, from the address on your Vibely account, and tell us what you want removed.
- Say what you want deleted — a particular event, a group chat message, your date of birth, or anything else you can identify.
- We may ask you for information to confirm the account is yours.
- We delete it and confirm when it is done.
We acknowledge within 24 hours and complete the request within 15 days. Where a longer period applies under your local law, the shorter one wins.
What we can delete this way
Anything on your account that is not required for someone else’s records or by law:
- your name, username, date of birth and gender;
- events you host, and your bookings and attendance;
- messages in a group chat you created;
- your friends, friend requests, and block list;
- your push notification token.
What we cannot delete while your account is open
- Your email address. It identifies the account. Deleting it means closing the account — use Delete Your Account, which overwrites it on your profile. One copy is kept afterwards by our sign-in system, solely to enforce bans; that page explains exactly what is kept and why.
- Messages you sent in other people’s group chats. Removing one side of a conversation leaves the rest unreadable for everyone still in it. Close your account and they stay, but are attributed to “Deleted user” rather than to you.
- Reports other people filed about your conduct. Deleting these on request would make the reporting system pointless. Free text and the copy of the reported content are stripped 90 days after a report is settled.
- Records we are legally required to keep, for the legally required period and no longer.
Retention for anything already deleted
- Server request logs (IP address, timestamps) age out on their normal cycle, up to 12 months.
- Crash reports are kept by Firebase Crashlytics for 90 days.
Neither is linked back to the specific data you asked us to remove.
The full retention table is in the Privacy Policy §5.2.
Your rights
Asking us to delete part of your data is the right to erasure under the EU/UK GDPR (Art. 17), the DPDP Act (§12) in India, and the CCPA (§1798.105) in California. You can also ask us to correct data or send you a copy of it, at the same address. We do not charge for any of this and we will not treat you differently for asking.
